  1. Eugene as a boy, served his time in P.M. Reilly’s Granard. Patk O’Donnell, now living in Granard was then foreman. One night Eugene was ordered to go down to the yard to see if everything was in order. Previous to that a strange noise had been heard in the yard. Eugene, however, refused to go. Where upon O’Donnell jumped up & taking a stout whip & the bunch of keys & went towards the back door leading to the yards. The others out of curiosity followed. At the threshold of the door leading to the yard they noticed that O’Donnell partly withdrew and was seen to fall.
Eugene who looked out beheld a woman dressed in white with folded arms leaning across the wooden gate.
