    Of Jack O'Hara brisk and bold
    That did such gallant deeds display
    In Ballinamuck that fatal day.

    From where the field of battle lay
    When out of danger as he thought
    Boy oh alas he had been caught

    The man that thirsted most for blood
    Was Isaac Clemment's and there he stood
    Then pitying Mrs Niochalls viewed
    The luckless man and brought him food.

    Of which she told him to partake
    For that he seemed fatigued and weak
    At this the yeomen were displeased
    With fierce glances on him gazed

    Were shoot this wretch one of you men
