    odd house they used to use dip candles, and those were generally about the length of the ordinary candles.
    At this time there were no cups nor saucers, but noggins were used instead, & the people lived chiefly, on oaten bread & porridge with milk. Tea was then little used, and potatoes formed a substantial part of the food.
