    they would put the captured priest. Then they nailed on the lid and got big long spikes of nails which were driven down through the barrel all round about.
    Then the barrel was let roll down the slope of the hill until it came to a deep hole at the foot where it would drop down with a slap. When the barrel dropped into the pit the soldiers were sure that the priest was dead.
    In that pit there came a spring well and it was blessed, because the priest used to drop into it. Afterwards it was called the Blessed Well and people used to go there to get cured of any disease the had. It was forbidden for any person to was clothes at the well.
