  1. About fifty years ago there lived a man and a girl in a small wooden hut near Granard town. The man used to go out to shoot game on the mountains in West Meath. He used to have a hut for himself when he would go out to shoot.
    This time he went and it was in the summer, but anyhow the girl set out on her horse to join him shooting. Night fell dark about ten o'clock and it began to rain. By this time she was beside an old church that there was no service in for many years.
