  1. It is customary in my district, Soran, Killoe Parish, Co. Longford, during the twelve days of Christmas for every young person to enjoy himself or herself. They all join together and make a subscription to buy groceries to entertain the party. Sometimes it is the money that is collected on St. Stephen's day pays the expenses.
    It is said that the twelve days of Christmas represent the twelve months of the year. Regarding the weather, if the weather during those days be good, the whole year shall be fine.
