    punching holes in the iron and it is also used for beating the iron to the desired shape.
    The bellows are made of leather and wood, and are not made locally. They are triangular in shape, and are built on a "frame" beside the fire-place. There is only one fireplace in Kiernan's, and two in Mallon's. There are special kinds of coal used in the forges called "forge coal" There is also a "vice" used for holding the iron, and a wheel secured to the wall for boring iron.
