  1. One of the old Customs most frequently carried on is: anyone in the house gets a ball of yarn, and goes to any old unused kiln. The person holds one end and throws the yarn into the kiln. Having done this the person winds it into a ball again at the other end, and while he is winding it it is being held in the kiln. The person who is winding it asks who holds the ball, and a voice
