    In olden times the people used to eat three meals in the day and in Lent only one meal. Sometimes they had to get up early in the morning and grind and swieft the oats to make their breakfast of porridge. They mostly lived on oat meal. They made the bread of oat meal. They used to eat the porridge out of noggins and round wooden dishes. They used to eat Colcannon on Holloween
