- Garvey pass was made during the time of the famine in 1846 and 1847. The people used to get six pence a day for working on it. There was a draw-bridge at all the forts in the time of the Danes. There is a very deep trench at Drumbad fort yet. Long ago there used to be dances on the cross-roads. There are heaps of stones in the fort in Creelaughter over graves. There is a Mass pass in Creelaughter and another in Fardromin.
