  1. How they played football long ago. They put four posts at each end of the field. The two posts in the middle were for goals and the ones in the sides were for points. If the Ball was kicked through the goals higher than a man's reach it was nothing. One goal keeper had to mind four posts and another had to mind the other four. Seventeen men played on each side. One in the goals, six backs, three center field men and a man going through the field everywhere.
