  1. I heard this story from Maria Feehely, Cloonmacart, aged 84 years.
    Once upon a time there were two children who lived with their father and a cruel step - mother who was very severe on them because she hated them. One day she brought them out deep into the woods and made a fire and told them to stay there until she'd come back.
