    a crooked sixpence. One piece is thrown away while the other pieces are put under the players pillow. If the player talks from the time he puts his head on the pillow the charm is broken. He has to preserve the charm by not talking. It is a very hard thing to keep from talking for everyone starts asking questions such as. "Are you warm" "Did you put out the cat" or "Did you quench the lamp" Who ever the person dreams of will be his future husband or wife.
    Another game is going to a limekiln at midnight and leaving a ball of yarn there [?] this trick is done in the name of the devil, so I wont say any more about it.
    Some time ago people used to go out holding a mouthful of water and listening to hear some name mentioned then that would mean that they would be married to a person of the same name. Of course these were only tricks and a way of making fun for the night.
