    named James Cunningham. The principal ball-alley in the county was at Derrydaragh in Newtowncashel. On different occasions the Middleton players went to play out finals there.
    About 50 years ago the ball-alley was destroyed by the Owens & the ONeills who were two fighting parties in this parish. They had a party fight somewhere around there. There is no trace of this ball-alley to be seen now.
