  1. O Paddy dear and did you hear,
    The news that's going round,
Our parish Priest, brave Father Pete,
Has got a slice of ground,
    A speckled cow,
    Like John Mc Cormacks cows,
And leap the ditch into Ned Kearney's play,
    And clip his prata brow,
    Hurrah for the Carrickedmond men,
    Hurrah three times again,
And a lusty cheer for the sagart dear,
    And for the Carrickedmond men,
    II
For milk she is a toper,
And a bucket she can flow,
For that speckled cow it took,
A prize in the Longford show,
But when she clipped the prata brow,
    We though she'd not survive,
But now she is a bonny cow,
    The fattest cow alive,
    Hurrah the Carrickedmond men,
May be very glad to day,
