  1. People were able to cure their own illnesses long ago.
    When a person gets his leg or hand cut he should get a swede turnip and cut it up in slices. These slices are put in a vessel with water and steeped there for a few hours. They should then be taken out and mixed with sugar and applied to the cut. This is done until the cut is cured.

  2. Long ago there were no doctors except what were called "quacks"
    There is a man named Gregory O'Rourke living in Killashee, Co. Longford. He has a cure for "Cancer". No other man in this district has the cure.
    He applies a plaster to the affected spot. Many people come long distances to be cured
