  1. Patrick Kelly used to teach in Abbeyderg and Moydow. They had a blackboard nailed to a tree. They used to sit on stones round in a circle and the teacher in the middle. They had to write on slates with burned sticks. Every morning the pupils used to bring him meal and bread and potatoes for teaching them.
