    when the little sprouts appear he lifts more clay out of the furrow and scatters it over the top. This is called "finishing the potatoes". When stubble ground is used drills are made as the ground needs more ploughing and it is better to plough it in Winter as frost is good for the clay it leaves it mouldy and kills weeds. In Spring the ground is harrowed and ploughed again and harrowed and all the scutch grass gathered in heaps and burned. Then the drills are opened for the manure
    To make the drills with a plough and two horses you make a straight line up the field and turn at the headland and come back in the same track, turn again and go up in back of the last scrape and so on until
