    for health, Tuesday for wealth, Wednesday the best day of all, Thursday for losses, Friday for crosses, and Saturday is no day at all. It was an old custom to give the bride a bunch of heather which she threw to the girls and which one caught it would be the next bride. It is an ill omen to meet a red haired woman on your wedding day. It is unlucky to dance at your own wedding. The local boys hold a rope across the road to stop the wedding coming home from the church and the groom has to throw them money before they will let him pass.
