  1. There is a Fairy Fort called Dooley's ratheen in Muckanagh. There is a fence of bushes and a deep trench around it. It is said that the fairies go from Dooley's ratheen to Crocan Ruad which means a hill of sand.
    One night when Michael Connaughton was going home from rambling he heard a lot of horses coming towdards him he sat down under a ditch and the horses leaped across him.
