    in. There was the fox running around the house, with a wicked appearance about him. The farmer had no means of killing him at hand, but it happened that where the farmer had made the hole in the roof some small stones had fallen down on the inside. These were just the thing to kill the fox with. So over the man went to get a few of the stones but when he stooped to pick them up, the fox jumped up on his back and from there out on the hole and so escaped.
