  2. Early in the 18th century, the land about Killare was owned by a man named Robert Matthias, better known as Bob. He lived in Killare house, a short distance from the village. He kept hunting horses for his sons and daughters. Now, among them was a valuable mule. The mule was often ridden by one of his daughters
