  1. About thirty years ago a man was down fishing on Loughan lake which is situated quite near Ballnacarrow. He wished to get out on the lake but had no means of doing so, There was one old leaking boat at the edge of the lake but it was leaking. He resolved to risk going out . When he reached the centre of the lake, the boat filled with water. He tried to jump out and swim ashore but he was sucked in under the boat and was drowned. His body was never recovered.
