    Harness making
About twenty perches from my house there is a bush called the Saddler's Bush. At the back of it are the ruins of an old house once the dwelling of a saddler. HIs name was Paddy Kerrigan
He was a very good harness maker. He made his living by it. He was once at a harness makers competition held on Randerish ( a place in Modernstown) There were sixteen competitors. He was the fastest and his work was the most perfect. The ruins of his house is still to be seen.
He lived to be a very old man. In the last few years of his life he was blind and was unable to make harness.
He is dead about 40 years (aged 92 years)
