  1. Local happenings. Drowning.
The Inny river is about a mile from my home. Some years ago all the young men used to go to it to fish and whoever would be the first would catch the most fish.
One Sunday two men named Lynn decided they would go when they would get up and would not go to mass.
When they reached the river they got in for a swim. One of them swam across the river and back again. When he was near the edge he went down and the other man went in to pull him out. The man who under the water caught the other man and would not let him go and both of them were lost.
It was said in the locality that their accident was due to their absence from mass.
The place where they died is called the Lynn.
