    said that Hempenstall had an unholy hatred of children.
    When he first came to that district he became furious when he saw the children playing on the roads and in the fields.
    He gave orders to the men under him to kill as many of them as possible.
    Some years ago Hempenstall was held up as a bogey man to children who were naughty. In Moyvore also Hempenstall played havoc and there are many murders recorded against him in that district.
