  1. The local fairs are held on the village street at Ballynacargy. Buyers sometimes call at the farmhouses and make their purchases. These cattle thus bought are usually for export to Britain, as they arrive on the English markets in better order than those purchased at fairs.
    A well known fair was held some years ago at Empor on the last day of May in each year. This fair has been discontinued. Large numbers of cattle and sheep were disposed of at Empor
