  1. There are a number of forts situated in the townsland of Empor about a half a mile from this school.
    The only fort that I can describe is situated a quarter of a mile from this school.
    This fort was built by the danes when they came to Ireland so as to help them to fight.
    It is round in shape and there is a fence of bushes around it and it is considered unlucky to cut any of those bushes.
