  1. There was a man in Clonave and he was called the wild man of Clonave. Every night about ten o'clock he used to go out and walk through the bog with a light. One day the wild man was put into the asylum but after a while he broke out and went back to Clonave. He went into a certain house and asked for a scissors. When he got it he cut of[f] his whiskers so that the people out of the asylum would not know him. Told by Christopher Fagan (deceased) aged 77 Clonave, Coole Co. Westmeath.
