  1. The most harmful weeds growing on our farm are Dock, Colt's-foot, Poppy, Chickweed, Lambs-quarter, Red-shank, Grounsel, Peshagh, Thistle, Nettle and Scutch. They all spread rapidly and very hard to banish them.
    Where the land is poor Sorrel, Rushes, Yorkshire-fog, Sweet meadow and Marsh-mallow grow.
    A herb called Mineán Merr when boiled is good for the kidneys. Nettle tea is good for Rheumatism. Water-cress is good for the heart.
    Dandelion boiled in milk is good for a bad stomach.
    Docks are often given to pigs. Nettles are given to turkeys and Dandelion is given to young chickens
