  1. There was a football match played locally in the year 1906 between Castletown and Dalystown. There were fifteen men on each side. The match was played in Dalystown and Castletown won by one goal and a point. The players were dressed in a shirt and trousers and some of them wore knickers and shirt. The refereeing was done the same as to-day only it was not as strict. The goal space was marked by two point posts each side of the goal post.
