- Dathaveen or Laugheveen well is situated in a valley on the banks of the river Brosna in Rathnamore.This well is a very deep and wide. It is supposed to be blessed by St. Patrick and some old people, visit it on St. Patrick's day. The field it is in which is the property of Dan Grehan is called the Church field.In olden days a man went out to plough on St. Patrick's day. The horses ran away and dragged the plough and man down the hill along with them into Dathaveen well, and it is a local belief up to the presant day, that the handles of the plough can be seen in the well on a sunny day. There are many strange looking fish in it. The townsland it is in is called Augheyhassey. There is a mass stone in a field near it.
