  1. When people are getting married, they get married before Lent or during the summer months. When the bride and bridegroom are coming out of the chapel rice and confetti are thrown at them. An old boot is tied to the car or thrown after it to bring good luck.
    Here are some rhymes in connection with marriage.
    Marry in blue you are sure to be true.
    Marry in white you are choosing a right. Marry in green ashamed to be seen.
    Marry in yellow ashamed of your fellow.
