  1. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ crucifed I lay me down to sleep. Bless me O Lord defend and govern me and after this short and miserable pilgrimage bring me to everlasting happiness. Amen.
As I lie on my right hand side I pray to God to be my guide. If I die before I wake I pray to God my soul to take. There are four corners on my bed, there are four angels round my head.
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, God bless this bed that I lay on.
