- On the roadside near Killough a stone is pointed out, marked with the print of Saint Patrick's knees. It is said he knelt to pray on that stone.
- In the good old days when monasteries and abbeys dotted our isle it was the custom of the good monks of St Finion at the great monastery at Clonard to send their less fortunate brothers at Cilcolm near Raharney or Rathcarney its old name. Killucan presents in the form of wine and other articles for use in the churches and as the Royne (Boyne?) was navigable in those days to Clonard heavily laden barges sailed up the river with wines and other precious(continues on next page)
