    When soot falls down from the chimney
    When rainbows are seen in the sky
    When dark clouds are rolling about
    When dogs get sleepy
    When dogs eat grass
    When old people feel pains in their bones
    When curlews are heard crying in Tobin's bog
    When the Hill of Lloyd is nearer
    When the walls of houses get damp
    When swallows fly low
    When cats scrape wood
    When crickets sing sharp in the walls
    When the goats come in
    When the foxes are heard crying
    When the smoke falls down the chimney
    When we see spiders creeping about

    THE FOLLOWING ARE STORM SIGNS:-
    When cats sit with their backs to the fire
    When blue blazes are in the fire
    When Willy the Wisp is seen
    When wild geese fly arbund

    It is a sign of good weather to see the sheep grazing peacefully
