    so the next morning he gave it out on the altar for whoever owned the butter to come and claim it and he stopped all that for that year.
    Those people who could take the butter off the churn would not be allowed next or near a house while the person would be churning because they were supposed to bring bad luck to the house.
    Long ago people would not let one light their pipe with a coal from the fire while the churning would be going on in their houses
    All that superstition has now left the country for ever.
