    It is customary to throw rice or confetti after the bride or bride-groom on the wedding day. A wedding feast is held in the house of the bride's parents, or in a hotel in the nearest town.

  2. Marriages frequently take place at Easter or Shrove. People generally get married on Wednesday. It is thought to be a lucky day.
    There is an old rhyme connected with marriage.
    Married in blue you will always be true.
    Married in green ashamed to be seen
    Married in Yellow ashamed of the fellow.
    Married in brown you'll live out of town
    Married in red you'll wish yourself dead
    Married in grey you'll live far away
    Married in black you'll wish yourself back
    Marriages were not held in the houses in this district at any time.
