- (continued from previous page)They ate six or seven eggs for breakfast on Easter Sunday. Pancakes and Colcannon were eaten on Pancake night which occurs on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.
No one remembers when tea was first used in the district.
Noggins were used before cups became common. They were made of wood, were medium in size, and very round with small handles.
- The people had three meals a day in olden times. They were breakfast, dinner, and supper. The people worked in the morning for a few hours before having food.
Each meal consisted of oaten bread and oaten porridge, and potatoes were eaten at dinner. They drank buttermilk.
