The buttermilk is given to calves, and it is used also for making bread. - We have a churn at home. It is about two feet high. It is about six inches wide on the top, and at the bottom. The sides are straight. It is about twelve years old. The various parts are called the dash, the lid, the handle, and the screws that keep in the handle.
The butter is made twice a week in Summer, and once in Winter.
My Mother usually does the churning. Strangers who come in during the churning help at the work because it is an old Irish custom. The churning(continues on next page)- Collector
