  1. (continued from previous page)
    Many hands make light work.
A friend in need is a friend indeed.
    Empty vessels make most sound.
Laugh, and the world laughs with you.
    Weep, and you weep alone.
Feast, and your halls are crowded
Fast, and the world goes by.
Spare the rod, and spoil the child
    Business first, and pleasure afterwards
Where ignorance is bliss, it's folly to be wise.
Dont 'swop' horses crossing a stream
A life of pleasure is the most unpleasing life in the world.
Bread is the staff of life.
    Eaten bread is soon forgotten.
A shilling after death is lost money.
A man's best friend is his pocket.
