Martinstown Hall, Delvin, was burned by the "Black and Tans" in the year 1921. No lives were lost but a little furniture was destroyed.

Clonyn Castle, Delvin was burned by the owner in the year 1649. When Cromwell came to Trim he sent a message to him to make room for his horses and men, but the owner refused, and rather than allow Cromwell to take possession he burned the castle to the ground. The ruins of the old castle are still to be seen.
