  1. One morning, soon after the spraying of potatoes first came into vogue "The Long Fellow" met Patrick Farrelly and James Mackon carrying a budget. He immediately made the following song:-
    The Spraying Machine
    I
    As I went awalking over fine Summer's morning
    Two neighbouring farmers I met on the way
    Who often indulged in a long spell of talking
    But hardly a word could I get them to say
    One strapped to his back had a queer looking measure
    In shape like a budget but not quite so mean
    I asked him what was it, says he "It's a treasure
    Its our share-holders wonderful spraying machine".
