  1. In this district there are many old cures which are sometimes used by old people to cure certain sickness.
If salt is put into a cut it will cure it.
If a person who has warts finds a white snail and ribs it to the warts, then sticks it on a blackthorn, according as the snail withers away the warts also wither away.
If a person has a hiccough and gets a pinch of salt from somebody else it will stop.
When a person gets a sting of a nettle and puts a docken to it the pain will stop.
The water in which the blacksmith cools his iron is supposed to be able to cure the warts which are washed in it,
If you go out under a pony three times for three mornings in succession you will be cured of the whooping cough.
