    Bateman. The teachers were paid by the Government.
    The subjects that were taught were, English, Catechism, Arithmatic and writing.
    The Master was called the "Latin Master".
    Behind a sheltery hedge in Grangestown, Castlepollard, school was carried on about a hundred years ago.
    The master was a man named James Duffy. His wages consisted of a certain sum of money which the pupils brought him.
