    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    A black dog called the "trotter" is said to have travelled the roads from Castlepollard to Collinstown and visited all the by roads in the districts.
    The dog was seen on various occasions in former years. He wore boots and he could be heard coming half a mile away. He is said to have opened gates with his feet and knocked at doors. When you were passing him he gave a fearful look with his lit-up eyes and his tongue a half foot out. Sometimes he disappeared, and sometimes he went on his journey.
