  1. Gobain Saor was the first man to build with lime and sand in Ireland. He built a church in the Lorgan which is situated in Tuitestown and another in Kilpatrick, both in the parish of Collinstown and county Westmeath. The walls of the one in Kilpatrick are still standing and there is a tradition connected with it. It is said that when it does fall it will kill seven Virgins.
    There is a carving of the head of Gobain Saor on the end of Mr. James Smyth's barn in Whitehall. This carving was taken from the ruins of an old castle in Tuitestown by the late Patrick
