  1. Once upon a time a certain man went to look for a woman and he was accompanied by a "matchmaker". This man was hard pleased and wanted a big fortune with the wife. He had a terrible appetite and used to eat an awful lot of food so he told his companion not to let on that he eat so much afraid it would put a nail scirt and she might think he would be hard fed. He told his matchmaker to stand on his foot when he thought he had enough eaten as a warning for him to stop.
    They started off of ocurse they had a quart of whiskey and when they arrived at the house there was great welcome for them. The father unyoked the horse and led in his future son in law. After some time a great feast was prepared for them and the whole joined in it. When they were a few minutes eating the dog went under the table and stood on the man's foot and immediately
