In this district there is a well and a serpent's head is supposed to be seen in it. Anybody who went near this well the serpent would kill and eat them up. St Patrick heard of this strange serpent and coming to the well he made the sign of the cross and the serpent was never seen in the well since. The field in which the well is in is called
