  1. Another version of the foregoing story is that the farmer watched his cows and he saw the hare. He hunted it and the black dog bit the leg of it as it was going in the window and they traced the blood to where she was in bed.

  2. There was a witch one time in Grangegeith and she used to come into a house on the Grange road. Every time she would come in they would have no butter on the milk. They put a cross of sticks under the churn and when she came in she had to go out again as she could not take the butter.
